JOHN LENNON & YOKO ONO - 'WEDDING ALBUM'

'Wedding Album' was the final in a succession of three experimental albums by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Released in 1969, it consisted of two tracks: side 1 "John & Yoko" - a recording of Lennon and Ono calling to each other, through a range of emotions, over the sound of their heartbeats. Side 2: "Amsterdam", the second side, consists of interviews, conversations, and captured sounds during the couple's famous "Bed-In" honeymoon, after being married on 20 March of that year.

The set is presented inside an elaborate but extremely fragile box set designed by John Kosh, who also designed the 'Let It Be' box.

'The Press' booklet containing press cuttings about John & Yoko from around the world & a 2-sided photo poster entitled 'The Wedding'

A picture of a piece of wedding cake & 2-sided poster depicting drawings/sketches by John & Yoko

A 'Bagism' white vinyl bag, photo-strip & postcard of John & Yoko

The UK pressed 'Wedding Album' LP on Apple Records: SAPCOR 11

Disc weight: 144g

The disc is housed within an outer-laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed gatefold cover.

All of the above is contained within a UK manufactured box, with a copy of their wedding certificate pasted on the underside of the lid.

N.B. Unlike the U.S. box, the UK version did not have its catalogue number on the spine, or indeed anywhere on the box.

CONDITION

Box: EXCELLENT

Extremely hard to find in anything approaching this condition. However this example has survived the past 43 years in great shape with minimal signs of storage and no major faults. The lid is clean overall with just faint traces of age and light crease marks part-way along the lower edge and a smaller one along the right.

The spine is fully and clearly worded but there is a scorch mark on the lower edge aside the Apple Records logo. All of the delicate corners are fully intact and unsplit both on the lid and the lower tray.

All components are 100% original with just light handling wrinkles on the paper items, but no tears, writing or any significant damage.

Both are perfectly clean & unworn and bear just a singly faint spindle trail around the side 1 centre hole but none on side 2.

A perfectly clean and high-gloss example with an immaculate unworn front leaf & inner gatefold panels. There is no damage to either of upper or lower part of the central hinge.
