Description

Absolutely fabulous 1969 Press box set of John & Yoko's "Wedding Album". Oh so rare original Apple pressing complete with all the inserts and album in mint to near mint condition. I cannot show you every item but my descriptions are guaranteed accurate.

For a start the box is totally solid and clean, no tears or splits, with "WEDDING ALBUM - JOHN AND YOKO" and "SMAX-3361" printed on left edge; "Apple Records" on bottom edge; and inside the lid a copy of the Marriage Certificate on 20th March 1969.

The vinyl album, in a plain white sleeve, is practically unplayed (well I did hear it once but decided life's too short).

There is also a laminated gatefold sleeve with the John/Yoko image on the front, an "Amsterdam John and Yoko" in bed on the back and a wide-angled shot of the press conference inside. The laminate in unblemished with "Wedding Album - John and Yoko" and "SAPCOR 11" printed on the wide and upright edge.

A tri fold-out poster (36 x 12 inches) with photos and John's inimitable cartoons of  'Bagism' and 'bed-in' with his signature. This is brilliant...

...but this too... the wonderful "The Wedding" poster, opens out to 36 x 24 inches, outstanding personal close-up photographs of the couple during the ceremony. Both of these are immaculate.

There's the fantastic 17-page, 12 x 12 inch "The Press" booklet which is loaded with photos, cuttings, articles and cartoons from around the world, criticising and praising the couple. Mint and priceless!

Also a strip of four passport photos AND a picture postcard of the couple (in bed of course)... there's even a generous piece of wedding cake!

And... last but not least, the famous "Bagism" plastic bag. All together a fascinating memento of the most controversial wedding ever.
