Description

This is Atlantic Records SD 1311 John Coltrane Giant Steps, a stereo, green and blue label issue with a rare deep groove and white fan logo. This heavy vinyl issue may not be a 1st (1959) pressing, but it is a very early 1960 pressing,  retaining the brilliant sound of the original issue.(This was a transitional time for Atlantic, but the deep groove leads me to believe the date is 1960, which would make this a very early pressing). The record is in near mint condition showing almost no signs of wear. It plays quietly throughout, except for random, extremely occasional clicks which do not interfere with the enjoyment of the music. The deep groove labels are perfect. The original glossy cover with it's original inner sleeve, is near mint.  This is a superb copy of this wonderful collector's piece offered without a reserve.  The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12. This is part of a large Jazz record collection I will be offering in the next few months. Please check our other listings as we discount shipping on multiple orders.
