Description
Up for bid is an original stereo pressing of Jimmy Smith's Root Down released on the Verve Records label. This is cataloged V6-8806 and features the original black and silver Verve labels. This is arguably one of the best recordings by the artist and features some pretty amazing drum breaks.
The vinyl is in stunning NM condition, with no blemishes and looks as if it has never been touched by a stylus. Since in my collection, it has been stored in a poly-lined audiophile style inner sleeve to maintain its beautiful condition. The jacket is also in beautiful condition, but shows some light signs of ring wear, so must grade VG++. The corners remain sharp and the seams show only very light signs of wear. This is an all around amazing copy of this hard to find LP and would make a wonderful addition to any serious Jazz collection. Don't miss out on your chance to get a nearly perfect copy.
