Jimmy Lomax and The Vows – ‘Come On Home’ / ‘Remember Me’ – Cab 3004 (US)

The Cab label, as far as I know, seemed to concentrate on calypso, but there were a few soul and R&B releases as well. Best of these, arguably, were this one and a tune called ‘Hungry For Your Love’ by Milton Floyd. ‘Remember Me’, a suberb sample of New York deep soul, also came out on the Cab-related Camille label, then backed with ‘I’m Gonna Love You’. The latter is nice enough, but no match for these tunes, ‘Come On Home’ in particular. Top copy, don’t miss it!
