You are bidding on a gently used copy of “Smash Hits” by Jimi Hendrix Experience on vinyl, released by Reprise records in 1969. Run-out information seems to indicate this is a Terre Haute pressing, but the etchings are very light and I can’t locate the “T” that verifies this—however, the two-color labels and the reference to the poster on the front cover pin this down to the original 1969 print-run and the Terre Haute pressing is the closest match in all other respects.

Vinyl is in VG+ condition. There are a couple of very light marks and a handful of small handling smudges that can likely be removed by cleaning the record, but the wax is in overall fantastic shape. The original inner sleeve is present and is also in great condition aside from 2” seam splits in the center of two of the edges. The original poster is included and is in absolutely stellar shape; there are no pinholes in the corners or any other signs that it was ever hung, and the folds are still so crisp that it seems likely the first time it was ever unfolded was when I carefully did so to snap the photo (the white patches you see are a result of light reflecting off the glossy paper—there is no damage to the poster itself). Jacket shows normal edgewear and handling wear for its age, but no seam splits or anything like that, and the spine is fully legible. As a collector, I have vinyl that looks absolutely destroyed but plays perfectly without a single skip, and I also have records I purchased Brand New that don’t have a single mark on them but skipped for no evident reason the first time I played them out of the shrink wrap. It’s just the nature of the format. All of the records I’m selling are graded based on the best assessment I can make by looking at the vinyl—obviously, I can’t listen to every record start to finish before listing them, so I’m providing the most detailed photos and descriptions I can to make sure anyone who purchases from me knows exactly what they’re buying and is satisfied.
