Your chance to win a rare Original mono Hendrix classic!
Lets deal with that legendary Ernest J. Day flipback laminated gatefold masterpiece - these covers always take a battering but invariably manage to hold together. This particular cover has the usual issues, feathering due to the vinyl being removed and replaced, corner bumps and a couple of instances of slight laminate lifting. Inside the gatefold there is a bit of a crease running down the centre where someone obviously failed to place the record in the sleeve correctly.
All of these issues are to be expected with the age and I reflect this in the low starting price - have a good look at the extensive photos I have included. I am being ultra critical as I have enjoyed this album for the last few years and i was never too disappointed with the sleeve in standing in my collection.
Now the most important aspect - the vinyl!
This mono first pressing sounds simply stunning!!!
Sure there is some crackle and it can be noticeable in quieter passages but to be honest it does not even register once you here that deep mono sound. I am sure that a professional clean at some point would give stunning results but as it is its still very strong.
Visually the vinyl retains a nice sheen and the only marks are unfeelable hairlines one of which is quite long but does not affect playback at all - again the crackle you hear more than likely just needs a pro clean. Both labels look great - please check the photos for confirmation.
Rest assured that I am selling only due to constantly upgrading my collection and have treated my vinyl with complete respect - all records played only on my Thorens TD125 with a Shure VN35MR stylus with a tracking weight of 1gram.
All my vinyl will be delivered to you in a professional cardboard mailer, taken out of its cover, placed in a plastic cover and with a stiffener.............and best of all?
