Jellyfish US 180g Reissue LP Bellybutton EX 2012 Omnivore OVLP5 Alt Rock
US Reissue 180g LP released in 2012 on Omnivore records. Cat: OVLP5. Comes with printed lyric inner bag which is in Near Mint condition. Matrix numbers are: OVLP-5-A RE1 MINE'S AN INNIE GOLDEN 20123.1(3)/ OVLP-5-B RE1 THIS ONE'S AN OUTIE GOLDEN 20123.2(3).By the early '90s, it was hardly unusual for a band of hip young upstarts to worship at the power pop altar of bands like Big Star, Badfinger, and the Raspberries, but Jellyfish were unusual in that they also folded in a healthy portion of Cheap Trick fandom, and rather than merely admiring Cheap Trick's impressive way with a tune, they also coveted their ability to pump this sound up to arena size, and were determined to go them one better. On Jellyfish's debut album, Bellybutton, group leaders Andy Sturmer and Roger Manning had all the key ingredients of classic power pop down cold the sweet but biting melodies, the addictive hooks, the gorgeous stacks of harmonies, and the '60s-styled musical accents and then revved them up with rock star-proportioned drums and guitars on tunes like "All I Want Is Everything" (itself a canny parody of hard rock excess) and "The King Is Half Undressed," while letting their savvy production polish do the talking on "I Wanna Stay Home" and the almost-hit "Baby's Coming Back."
There are no signs of spindle marks on labels. Record has a few light scuff marks and is in Excellent condition. Cover is in Near Mint condition.

Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.

Post method for overseas: All parcels are sent via Australia Post and are sent on a standard airmail service. There are no tracking numbers on these items. If you require a tracking number the item will have to be sent as an insured item which incurs a further postage fee.
