Description

Extraordinary deep-groove engineer's test pressings of Jackie Paris' "The Jackie Paris Sound" on stereo East-West ST-EW-4002.  East-West, a subsidiary label of Atlantic Records - issued a handful of LPs in the late 50's.  However, none of them were issued in stereo, making these pressings particularly interesting.  These single-sided disks, dated 3-23-(5)9, were intended for in-house distribution only, for review by Tom Dowd and Nesuhi Ertegun's production team.  They are far earlier in the pre-production stage than the double-sided test pressings that are distributed just prior to - or concurrent with - label and jacket printing. 

Personnel includes Hank Jones, Joe Benjamin, and Roy Haynes.
