ALBUM - NEAR MINT to MINT (almost no visible wear)


COVER - VG no ring wear, color is brilliant - this was kept in a protective outer plastic sleeve, wear on top of spine (see pics)


SLEEVE - EXC ORIGINAL paper sleeve (yellowing, slight creasing but no tears or splits)


Here is an exceptional, collector-grade 1969 US first-pressing of Johnny Winter’s legendary debut album, The Progressive Blues Experiment (Imperial Records, LP-12431). This highly sought-after copy features the desirable LP-12431-1 matrix stamper code in the runout wax, indicating it was pressed from the very first set of lacquer masters cut for the album. Further elevating its pedigree is the distinct, heavy Deep Groove (DG)indentation pressed into the center labels, identifying it as an elite early-era manufacturing run from the historic All Disc Records plant. The vinyl itself is in spectacular, visually brilliant Near Mint (NM) condition, retaining its full factory gloss with flawless audio delivery free of distracting surface noise.


Complementing the stunning vinyl is an Excellent (EX) to Near Mint (NM) cardboard jacket that displays incredibly sharp corners, a completely legible, rigid spine, and minimal shelf wear across its iconic reflective artwork. Nestled safely inside is the album's original, period-correct paper inner sleeve, showcasing authentic, natural age-mellowing while remaining free of split seams or heavy handling damage. This is a definitive, archive-quality centerpiece that delivers the raw, punchy, uncompressed bass response and soaring slide guitar dynamics that only an immaculate 1969 deep groove original can offer.
