CANNED HEAT COMMISSIONED THIS RELEASE AFTER WORKING WITH THE MAN ON 'HOOKER 'N' HEAT' IN 1970
THEY WERE ALSO INSTRUMENTAL IN GETTING MANY OTHER EARLY HOOKER RECORDINGS ISSUED DURING THE '70s (MANY FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME)
THE RECORD IS MISTAKENLY ATTRIBUTED TO THE 'COAST TO COAST BLUES BAND' BUT THEY DON'T APPEAR - THEY WERE HIS LIVE BACKING BAND AND THESE ARE EARLIER (MOSTLY SOLO) STUDIO RECORDINGS
LOVELY COPY - THE RECORD APPEARS UNPLAYED AND THE SOUND QUALITY IS THE FINEST YOU COULD WISH FOR (BUT AS THESE RECORDINGS ARE FROM CLEANED UP 'LOST' MASTER TAPES THERE IS THE OCCASIONAL SLIGHT SURFACE NOISE - MENTIONED IN THE LINER NOTES BUT ACTUALLY ON MY PLAY-CHECK AT LOUD VOLUME, ONLY REALLY NOTICEABLE ON A COUPLE OF THE TRACKS)
THE COVER IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH JUST A LITTLE RING IMPRESSION BUT A NICE DEEP GLOSSY SHEEN TO THE FRONT LAMINATE AND A CLEAN, SHARP, UNRUBBED SPINE WITH ALL TEXT CLEAR AND BOLD
