Another from my personal collection, I have accumilated more than 50,000 albums alone!, This is arguably one of the scarcest, RAREST  and most sought after UK Vertigo pressing to ever find Original 1st UK stereo pressing! There were (no) monos! This album was purchased from new over 37 years ago  and has been stored ion a case for at least 25 years with the vinyl seperated from the cover and sleeve. This is how I have always stored my records!!In breif this vinyl has barely ever been played and the vinyl  looks and sounds as new in my opinion just try to ever find a better looking and sounding copy, so very rare to ever find like this! This is also complete with the original Company Vertigo Reverse sleeve and the original 1st issue die cut gatefold cover printed by Howards printers in at least excellent condition if not better!! The vinyl boasts of being pressed from the earliest\first masters which produce the best ever audio on vinyl that can not be surpassed in any other format in my opinion,, look #1 and #1 matrix endings!!!! 

Blue is a progressive rock \ blues album released in 1972 on the Vertigo spiral labels in the UK by the ''John Dummer Blues Band'' featuring Nick Pickett on vocals and violin this combination of awesome top artists and musical expertise on this album has made this very scarce album extreemely desirable indeed, and it is noted that during the last five years, prices for this album on original vinyl have risen conciderably by the awareness of the great music, due to the internet access to downloads of this album and releases on cd format !!Making this original 1st press album one of the most desirable vertigo  pressings to ever find on vinyl!! The audio is perfect! Never need to upgrade !

 Nick Picket was from my part of the west country and got his taste of music listening to regular broadcasts of jazz and blues from the french radio stations in the 1960s!,, he had always been a keen singer, but didnt take up the guitar and harmonica until he was 16 and began studying art college in Somerset!!!  In 1968 he moved college to Bristol, where he became a resident singer in the Troubadour Club.  In late 1969 he joined The John Dummer Band as lead singer and guitarist!,, he wrote and produced a number of recordings with the band, including their hit single ''Nine by Nine'' He has recorded as a soloist for Warners ,, as well as recording as a guest with many many other artists, including Fleetwood Mac, Chicken Shack, Daddy Longlegs, Mungo Jerry and Andy Fernbach!!! 

John Dummer Was born in 1944 in Surrey, England, is a British blues rock - drummer.

During his high school Dummer learnd to play the drums . In 1963 he founded the R&B -Band ''Lester Square and the GT's'',

In 1967 he formed ''The John Dummer Blues Band,'', and  from 1969 a series of albums were released, various band members during this period were, Dave Kelly , Bob Hall , Tony McPhee und Jo Ann Kelly . As the material for the next album from the record company was rejected, Dummer dissolved the band and worked in the following years for various record labels, as a promotion manager!!!.

In 1970 Dummer joined 'The Darts' as their drummer,  he also wrote some tracks, including Can not Get Enough Of Your Love, How Many Nights and 'Late Last Night'!!

In 1980 Dummer left the Darts and founded the band ''True Life Confessions''!!!.

The Vinyl

This is the original thick and chunky type of vinyl only found on these original 1st pressings! The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is indeed awesome, still retaining its glossy sheen from new!! It is quite obvious that this vinyl has barely ever been played at all and has very minimal play ever!! On initial inspection I can barely even see a blemish on the playing surface and looks almost as new in my opinion!!! Any marks that could possibly ever be seen would be sleeve removal only,, certainly (no) needle or any audio sounding marks on this vinyl at all! Absolutely unbeleivable for arguably the most desirable vertigo UK pressing on vinyl!!!!

 The Audio Quality

The first important thing to note, is that this plays very near perfect on my systems as good as it ever gets in my opinion!!! I have very carefully played this vinyl track for track prior to listing three times at very loud volume on a top system!! The audio is cristal clear and vibrant with (no) signs of any distortion or any signs that this has been overplayed what so ever!!,, in fact I would go as far as to say that this sounded as good as it gets in my opinion ! Even in between tracks this is silent! Truly unbeleivable,,, stunning audio seperation throughout! (No) clicks pops and no background noise unbeleivable to ever find!! The audio is as good as it gets!!!((((This must grade as near mint audio in my opinion!))))  Unbeleivable, barely ever played and only ever played by me ever!!!You will never find a better sounding copy!

 Please note! I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for the odd light static, Please remember that this is a genuine 37 year old vinyl that would have originaly been played on a 37 year old system! (Although I never heard any interfearance at all. This played near perfect on my systems,,unbeleivable!!! )

 Points to note! This album has been in my collection from new and stored in a case laying dormant for at least 25 years! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves over the years causes static crackle\ticks. A constant clean before each play is highly recomended!,, this will reduce this static and will enhance the audio quality! 

I would class myself as highly critical please look at my completed listings of records that I have sold of this calaber and you will see that I normally get it right!!!

The Labels

These are the original Vertigo spiral labels (only 1st UK press) look in awesome condition any spider marks can just barely be seen angled to the light and looks barely played at all!!,, Perhapes just over a handfull of times only! Unbelievably rare indeed! 

The Record Sleeve

This is the original Vertigo Company (Reversed logo) record sleeve! Correct for this issue! With (no) splits or tares! Just light creasing\staining with age (which is usual for 39 years old)! This is the original graded at least excellent!

The Cover

This is the original orange unlaminated Die Cut gatefold cover! , made and printed by Howard Printers, Slough in England (only 1st press) These are extreemely difficult and very rare to ever find in good condition like this! There are very (very) few light creases worth to mention, that are only really to ever be noticed if you really scrutinise it also the same applies to any rubbing or any marks this is strong and straight and amaizingly all text at the spine is legible  and the spine is lovely and square as it should be! The die cuts are generally sharp and crisp (see photos) This cover must grade at least excellent to Excellent plus! Unbeleivable to ever find like this!!!
