Description
For auction is the JOHN COLTRANE QUARTET's "Ballads" on Impulse A-32 MONO, 1963. With McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Garrison and Elvin Jones.
SOUND: VG+
It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. Overall, the record sounds beautiful! Very minor instances of surface noise are the only flaw I can mention. Nothing distracting, nothing that detracts from the performance, and only audible in a few brief passages. I think the VG+ grade is solid!
VINYL: VG+
Visually, the vinyl shows routine, minor scuffs or other marks under bright light. The record has white Impulse "promo" labels. Overall, very good shape.
COVER: VG+
The cover is very nice. Edges and spine are solid with minor wear. There is a 1-inch split starting in the bottom middle. A couple of the corners are starting to fray, but not too bad. The laminate is lifting in a few small areas around the boarders, otherwise the front, back and gatefold surfaces are clean, with only routine wear or aging. The owner's name is written in red marker inside the gatefold.

Overall, a beautiful record that plays very nicely. No reserve, bidding starts at $25.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction.
