       Original Atlantic black label mono release with both record and cover in dead on mint minus condition. There is a teensy bit of barely noticeable ring wear near the bottom middle and the bottom left corner is very good but not perfect.  See pictures.        Original inner sleeve is fresh looking and intact.  This record came as part of a large meticulously kept jazz collection that I acquired. The jacket looks like new with strong bright glossy colors, sharp corners, no wear, writing and everything nicely centred from the factory. The spine is nice, clean and new looking, as are all the other edges. It is so nice I am almost afraid to handle it.
            The record is superb as well. Looks like it was made yesterday not 55 years ago. Excellent gloss beautiful black label the spindle hole tells a tale of this record played very few times and carefully at that. The vinyl is thick, flat with a rich lustrous gloss and free from any manner of scuffs, scratches, smudges or dust on the grooves and only the lightest of diamond stylus footprints in the dead wax.   Hand etched in the dead wax is 11637-A and then AT on side one and 11638-A then AT on side two. When I played this record on my Technics SL 1500, the sound coming from my JBLs was nothing short of phenomenal it was so rich and alive. This recording is from the original release for sure, however there were two plants pressing the discs. One plant pressed 95% of the initial Giant Steps LP and those pressings were graced with the ever popular "deep groove" inset about 3/4 of an inch from the edge of the label. The other plant had a newer press that provided no deep groove but did a fantastic job. Aficionados that have heard both pressings generally prefer the non deep groove initial pressing.              I've been a record collector since 1965 and have had my own record shop since 1994 and managed another record store before that. I know how to grade, package and ship records. Everything will be individually sleeved in its own 2 mill bag. The record will be encased in a nice extra inner sleeve, 2mill bag and bubble wrap. The inner sleeve will be in its own bag as will the jacket.   It all comes together in an insured sturdy box. Items will be packed with plenty of stiffeners and foam to protect the corners.
