Stereo US Original Pressing of this incredibly obscure
Boxed-Set offering a really interesting & unique "behind-
the-scenes" look at what goes on inside an actual recording
studio & this contains an incredibly rare appearance by
vocalist Joanie Sommers where she's taken step-by-step
through the process of this rare recording of the song
"Am I Blue" (it's really cool to hear all this usually unheard
behind-the-scenes studio stuff) & this is really a well-
made album with lots of sampling potential!

comes with custom-printed box with credits and
photos inside, plus a great 4-Page Booklet that has
more photos documenting the session, a mic-placement
chart + a cool glossary of music-recording terms
and this even has its original Warner Bros. inner-sleeve
and everything is in really nice condition

our best guess is that this was not a commercially
released album, but instead intended for music industry
insiders and Disc Jockeys and we have only seen just
a few other copies of this ever offered for sale

liner notes read "this unique recording represents a
compilation of many of the most interesting and revealing
"behind the scenes" tricks of the recording industry.
Not only will you be permitted on the floor of the
recording studio, but you will also roam freely through
the control booth, editing rooms, and other
places normally closed to "outsiders"!"

record is in Near Mint - Condition and has been
fully play tested and it sounds fantastic and plays with
no skips, repeats or bad noise & has incredibly shiny and
clean vinyl with just ever-so-slight wear & also has shiny
clean wear-free labels with no writing or markings

box cover is in Excellent ++ Condition with bold bright
printing and has no seam splits, writing or markings*
and really only has just some light scuffs to the front
cover to keep us from grading this as Near Mint

the booklet is crisp, clean and in Nice Shape and
the Warner Bros. inner-sleeve is in Excellent Condition
with just a little wear to the corners & the only other
thing to note about the overall condition of the packaging
is that there is a rubber-stamped marking* on the inside
of the box, the top of the booklet & the inner-sleeve
which really blends in with everything and is only
seen upon close inspection, really

displays well & plays nicely

Joanie Sommers scored her biggest chart success
with "Johnny Get Angry" in 1962. The single, her second
solo release, peaked at the number seven spot and charted
for more than two months. Her first solo record "One Boy"
was a number from the musical Bye Bye Birdie and only
hit number 54 in 1960. She continued to record through
the decade, but never had another winner that rose as high
on the charts as "Johnny Get Angry." She later achieved a
different kind of success in commercials with jingles she
sang for Pepsi (The title of one of her albums 'Come Alive'
was even derived from one of the Pepsi ad campaigns)

she was 18 years old when Warner Bros. signed her
to a contract in 1959 & paired her with Edd Byrnes on
one of his singles & she also had a small role in 77 Sunset
Strip, the television series that featured Byrnes in the role
of Kookie. In addition, she sang on Byrnes' "I Don't Dig You"
and "Hot Rock" & Sommers later released an album of her
own, the jazz-oriented 'Positively The Most' which helped
establish her presence in easy listening and adult circles
and her 1965 album 'Softly the Brazilian Sound' is
considered to be one of her best efforts & her fantastic
Norther Soul track "Don't Pity Me" is highly collected

~ Our Record Condition Guide ~


since everyone has their own ideas about grading the condition
of records, we've decided to spell out how we do it. our descriptions are
also extremely thorough & individually note flaws that a generic condition grade
cannot. we also occasionally assign a + and - for in-between grades

Mint

perfect, never played & usually still factory sealed

Near Mint

nearly perfect with almost no signs of handling

Excellent

the slightest visual wear that in no way interferes with the sound

 Very Good +

light visible signs of handling & wear but well taken care of
and plays with only mellow occasional crackle and/or soft pops but 
nothing interfering with enjoying the record/artwork

Very Good

obviously used & handled, but not mishandled, with no skips,
repeats or bad noise, but with noticeable crackle, pops & soft tics or
artwork defects, but nothing too bad overall

 Very Good -

considerable visible wear & background noise with possible
skips, repeats, tics and cover flaws, but still enjoyable & would
be obviously well-used and somewhat mishandled

So-So

anything below VG- which we rarely sell, except
for really rare records that are worth listing only because
they're so hard to find & sought-after in any condition

Disclaimer

not everyone's turntable sounds & functions the same 
but we have a nice sensitive set-up that makes flaws very obvious to us
and we try to note everything we ear and see. while vinyl is an awesome sounding format,
there is almost always some sort of background noise while listening to a record.
we are just about as picky as anyone, so trust us
but be sure to read our descriptions carefully!
