This album comes from my 300+ record album collection, rock music mostly, from the late 70's into the 80's, that was purchased new, piece by piece, and has been stored away for many years. Now I'm planning to retire overseas and it's time to find a new home for my collection.
Turn down the lights, close your eyes and recline in your easy chair; listen to this classic album on DBX-enabled stereo equipment and you will be transported to a coffee house with Joan Baez on stage singing to you personally. Amazing vocals and guitar play. The first cut is an ode to Bob Dylan. A superior quality album with no ticks, pops, noise whatsoever; the best from my collection!
...from a reviewer on Amazon:
"Probably the best folk/ guitar recording I've ever had...The song, Diamonds & Rust came to mind and in a flood, so did many other things - if you haven't listened to this, do, and build your own memories around Joan's astounding piece of timeless artistry."
This record album received excellent care and handling. It was only handled by me, by the edges, and cleaned with D-3 Discwasher cleaning fluid (including the sylus) prior to being played. My turntable of choice was a Micro Seiki DD-40 manual turntable using a variety of audiophile quality stereo cartridges.
I have critically inspected this album that I am offering up for sale with a dual light source and magnifying glass using the Goldmine Guide for grading criteria as summarized below:
- NM = Near mint. Highest grade for an opened record. The record may only have been played once or twice. As the original and only owner, I was very meticulous in how I handled it. The vinyl will be extra clean and shiny with virtually no signs of wear. Cover is also very clean appearing and well preserved.
- EX or VG++ = Very Good++. Only slight signs of wear; still very clean, with a few very light surface marks which won't distract from the sound. Cover also has only slight wear and will still be in strong collectible condition.
- VG+ = Very Good+. Shows some signs of being used, but has still been well cared for. It may have light surface wear and a little record noise at times such as during soft passages. Overall it should still play well. Cover may have some wear or light ring wear but does not have any serious damage or defects.
- VG = Very Good. A more used record with some overall wear and light marks in the vinyl. There should be no skips while playing the record. Cover will have some wear, seam wear, ring wear, or a price sticker.
- VG- (VG Minus) Personally, I would be very embarrassed to offer any record in this condition unless it is truly rare. The Beatles' "Butcher" album comes to mind, here. An album in this condition will have some scratches or overall wear, and might play with a lot of noise. The cover would have heavy wear, ring wear, and may have some tearing or splitting. If I were selling a lot of several records I would add it to such a collection to, say, round out a collection for a given recording artist.
This album is graded: Near Mint The surface is virtually flawless under a strong light. The sleeve is graded: Near Mint No signs of shelf wear. Someone splitting hairs would grade the cover as 1 tick below NM.
