Label: BLUE NOTE ~ # BLP 1547. Monaural pressing on thick heavy vinyl with deep groove and flat edge.
Label address is “BLUE NOTE RECORDS *47 WEST 63RD * NEW YORK 23” on both sides.
No “R” symbol under Blue Note logo.
“RVG” is etched in the runout groove on both sides.
“Ear” symbol is stamped in the runout groove on both sides.

Condition:
DISC: Vinyl is EXCELLENT / NICE VG+ with 100% of original gloss, appears to have been played a very small number of times and handled with care. Side 1 is virtually flawless. Side 2 has a couple non-feelable scuffs that do not affect the listening enjoyment, otherwise is clean and excellent. No serious marks or issues whatsoever. This was a record played sparingly and well cared-for. Fidelity is superb. Labels are clean. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer sounding copy.
JACKET: Jacket is EXCELLENT with nice bright artwork. Seams, spine, and surfaces, and corners are excellent. A few tiny chips along the top seam. Reverse is clean and white with no cut-out marks, stickers, or stains; there is one very tiny pen mark at the bottom right corner, almost unnoticeable. A fine jacket to accompany the superb disc.

“On February 11, 1957 (and after cutting five albums with his trio), organist Jimmy Smith recorded with trumpeter Donald Byrd, altoist Lou Donaldson, and tenor saxophonist Hank Mobley in a sextet that also included guitarist Eddie McFadden and drummer Art Blakey. Among the songs recorded that day, two (lengthy versions of "Falling in Love with Love" and "Funk's Oats") are included on this LP along with a shorter trio rendition of "How High the Moon" from two days later with McFadden and drummer Donald Bailey in a trio.”
