Description

A Note:  I just want to say before we start that… I LOVE COLLECTING VINYL!   Records are graded strictly!  I want each person who receives an album from me to be happy with their purchase.  I know how it feels to expect something that is declared as EX or VG+++ only to find out when it arrives to be VG or worse.   Each and every LP is play graded before listing.  Many times I listen to them twice or three times just to be sure I'm being as accurate as possible. My system is below the description.  Please read it, as it will give you an idea of how I grade records.  Feel free to ask any questions you may have.  I will answer them to the best of my ability.  Usually it takes me less than a day to get back with you.

Jimi Hendrix:  Electric Ladyland 1968!!!

Original UK Pressing on the Black TRACK Label

VINYL:    * Double LP *

Visual:   EX/EX    Both records sit flat on the turntable.  A few very light surface marks only... absolutely nothing that affects the playback.

Play-grade:  EX/EX or better!   I don't use this grade (EX) lightly... especially on vinyl of this age...this is the exception.  The album plays EXTREMELY well!!!  Little to no background noise throughout...even the quieter songs like "Voodoo Chile (long version), 1983 A Mermaid I Should Turn to Be," and the first couple of quieter tracks on side A... all sound superb... and of course the rest of the album sounds superb as well!!!   Certainly NO skips, jumps, sticks or other serious flaws to report....just clean, clear sound!!!

This is a very nice copy of a landmark album for Jimi Hendrix... his Experience... and Rock music in general.  Everytime I listen to it, I get more of an appreciation for Jimi's guitar skills and dedication to perfection!  You simply cannot beat an original of this album for pure analog sound quality.   Finding this album is not rare... however it IS rare to find one such as this... that sounds very close to how it did the day it was pressed.

COVER:   VG++  The cover is very nice and only shows minimal wear.  The front and back do not have any real flaws other than a touch of laminate bubbling/peeling which is typical of all early Jimi Hendrix album covers.  The inside gatefold is in great condition too!  Spine is fully intact, however there is a nick/indention toward the bottom corner...this can be seen in some of the pics.  If not for this, I would rate the cover as EX all around.  There is no writing, seam splits, tears, bends, or creases.  I cannot show the front/back cover due to Ebay rules, but if you would like pictures of them please let me know, and I will email them to you.

Inner Sleeve:  2 Original, matching, white, poly-lined inner sleeves

I know I have the starting price set a little high on this one... however it is well below the price of what other similar... or even lesser condition copies have sold for on Ebay in recent months.  Please bid with confidence....I don't think you will be disappointed!

Grading:

M-  Very, very few records will make this grade.  I save this grade mainly for sealed LPs or very rarely, LPs I have owned from new, that I have ONLY play tested to be sure there are no faults to the vinyl.   Cover will be just about perfect in all respects.

EX (+/-) LP will have little to no background noise  (crackle/pop/etc) when played.  There certainly won’t be any loud repetitive pops, clicks, jumps or skips.  The vinyl will have a “Like new” sheen with very few surface marks if any.  These marks should not affect play whatsoever and are strictly cosmetic. None of these marks can be felt.  Covers will be in very nice condition with NO splits, tears or obvious writing (any writing will be mentioned and described).  May have the odd small crease, laminate peel or corner bump.  Spine should be fully intact, clear and readable.

VG (+/-) Most records will fall in this range as I don’t like to grade used records higher unless they are a real exception.    These may play with some light background crackle/pop that can be heard in the quieter parts of the album, between tracks or on the run in/run out grooves.  May have an odd light pop or so.  There should not be much of anything that disturbs the music when it is fully kicked in.  Vinyl may show some marks, but nothing that will cause major interference.  I think of these as player copies that can be enjoyed by most.   Album covers may have one or more of the following:  small seam splits, slight ringwear, some discoloration, small writing, or creases.  Any defects will be in the description.

G (+/-) These will have background crackle/pop that can be heard throughout…even when the music is kicked in the background noise will be constant.   They may also have some repetitive loud pops.  May have a minor skip or jump.  May stick.  Faults will all be described in detail.  Covers will be split, may have large writing.  At least one side of the cover will be intact.  Spine may not be readable or may have splits.

Fair – I don’t like to sell records in this category unless they are so rare it hurts.  Will skip, have loud pops, or may not even play at all.  Covers will be split, soiled, or possibly torn.
