ALBUM CONDITION: GOOD to VERY GOOD

( with light to moderate wear / scuffs / creases / surface marks; spine is 

complete and intact; some light foxing / staining on inside covers )

These sides were recorded by Alan Lomax at the Library of Congress in 

Washington D.C. in May, June & December 1938. 

They were issued by Circle Records as a set of 45 12" Vinylite records

presented in 12 separate binders. Sold on a subscription basis, the original

cost was a staggering $120 and the first sets were shipped in late 1947. 

It seems that the initial pressing was limited to 250 sets but it's likely 

that at least 350 sets were finally issued, based on the handwritten

Limited Edition numbers assigned to each volume.
