Description
You are bidding on a rare mono recording of JAY JAY JOHNSON VOLUME 1 ON THE LEXINGTON PERIOD BLUE NOTE LABEL.
BLUE NOTE 1505. (RVG, flat edge, ear, DG)
The recording engineer was Rudy van Gelder
Played on a Rega turntable, the vinyl is estimated at VG + with dynamic sound and separation. Any background noise (minor clicks, etc) seems to dissipate 10 seconds into the play with clean sound remaining on track one. There is intermittent minor clicking on a minute of track two and traces of clicking on the quieter passages and the dead space between songs on side one.
Side two sounds quite good with barely audible intermittent clicks. I estimate side two as VG++. Many would judge this record at better than VG+ because much of the overall play sounds great, but let's call it VG+. The DG labels on both sides look good.
Definitely a record you can enjoy.
The cover is estimated at VG+ or slightly better with a bumped upper right corner (insignificant bumping on other corners) Thereis wear to the lower seam for approximately three inches in the center. The reverse hints at minor staining but overall is typical of its age with no writing.
The record will be shipped in a new carton designed for record shipping with the vinyl removed from the cover and everything within a plastic sleeve.
