VINYL is NM-
High gloss vinyl shows few very faintest sleeve marks in hard bright light. LP plays like new throughout. Labels are pristine both sides.

COVER is EX+
Fragile, soft texture cover is still incredibly bright and clean. Very light 'shadow' mark left from previous sticker, u.l. corner, front. Back has 'SAMPLE COPY" stamped at l.l. corner. No wear, creases, writing, soil or other marks. Seams and spine completely intact with no wear or splits.

THE B-52 BAND & THE FABULOUS SKYLARKS was Burnett's debut album.
After starting his career as a musician, engineer, and producer in Texas, Burnett relocated to Los Angeles. This lengthily titled debut LP appeared in 1972. The B-52 Band is Burnett's five-piece combo, whereas The Fabulous Skylarks are the duo of female backup singers.

The songs are clearly formed with a strong sense of moral conviction and innate feel for the music. It's generally accepted that Burnett's Christian beliefs led to Bob Dylan's conversion when Burnett was a member of the Rolling Thunder Revue. These songs are ambitious and beautifully realized in every aspect of composition, arrangement, and production.

It's remarkable to hear this incredibly talented artist at such an early juncture in his musical career. Burnett's voice has its characteristic tone, though at this young point he sounds less gravelly, more vital. He was trying out several approaches and drawing from a range of influences; all in a roots, folk rock or blues/rock direction. VERY cool!

Extremely rare -and an essential work for any follower of Burnett's music.
