The Beatles – Introducing... The Beatles (Vee Jay Records – LP1062)

Pressing features: 

-1st U.S. Press (Version 2), Mono 1964, Vee Jay Records 

- Runouts - 'AudioMatrix' is stamped. All other characters are etched. The record’s run out areas include the following hand etched markings: “URJ”, “ARC 2154”, and the date 2-11-64 on Side A 

- This thick vinyl pressing was manufactured by Southern Plastics with ARC in the run out, indicating the pressing plant as Allentown Pressing

- Version 2 Press (Early pressings of Introducing... The Beatles (Version 1) included Love Me Do and P.S. I Love You, but due to copy rights issues, Vee Jay replaced them with Please Please Me and Ask Me Why in later pressings or Version 2).

Genuine Indicators:

1) No brown border around the jacket (fakes typically have brown border).

2) George Harrison’s shadow is clearly visible (shadow missing on fakes).

3) Back sleeve misprint: “Please,Please Me” has no space after the comma — a known authentic misalignment.

4) High-quality cover printing — crisp, professional look (fakes appear washed-out, blurry, or have a pinkish tint).

5) Passes the “Honey Test” — no missing ink on the upper left parts of the letters H and E (fakes often have ink gaps).

6) Label layout: “The Beatles” appears above the center hole (a sign of authenticity).

7) Vinyl weight: feels heavy and substantial (fakes are light and flimsy).

8) Correct dead wax markings — includes proper etchings and is only about one inch wide (fakes have a much wider dead wax area).

9) Label quality: rainbow/colorband labels are vivid and sharp (fakes show dull or faint colors with poor clarity).

Vinyl Record grade: Super Strong VG+++ or Near Mint, stunning condition, boasting a high-gloss, mirror-like finish with no scratches, hairlines, blotches, warps, or label markings—pristine, excellent.

Cover/Jacket grade: VG+, cover is not flawless with rounded corners and shelf-edge wear consistent with storage and slight ringwear on bottom front, yet the artwork remains sharp and gleaming. Strong spine. No seam splits. No writing on jacket. Very presentable jacket given it's age.

Record will be packed in a plastic outer sleeve with the record placed outside of the album jacket to prevent seam splits and securely sent in a reinforced media mailer with fragile stickers displayed on outside.

A few visible scratches. These may include light scratches, or other superficial marks. Scratches are difficult to see.

VG

Greater numbers and severty of scratches. Pronounced play wear. Visabily used. 

G+

Pervasive imperfections of varying degrees including both light scratches and scratches deep enough to be felt. Severe scrathes.

Appears unplayed and will bear no marks, sleeve scuffs, or scratches. This is grade seldom used. Must be in original plastic shrink wrap.

VG++

Sleeve may have a small sticker or bit of writing but looks great.  Minimal ring wear. May have one or two visible imperfections (i.e. sleeve scuffs or slightly worn edges)

VG+

A few visible imperfections. These may include sleeve scuffs, light scratches, or other superficial marks.

VG

 Acceptable cover but may have drill hole or cut corner. May have a minor split side (1-3 inches), large sticker, or prominent ring wear. Corners are more rough. 

G+

Pervasive imperfections. Obvious wear and tear.  Minor to major flaws including sticker rash, major doodles or other distracting writing, major ring wear, soft spine, or major, total split seem.
