Description
Vee-Jay Records VJLP 1062 Monaural Mono Studio Album by The Beatles Revised edition released February 10, 1964 Recorded 1962 – 1963, Abbey Road Studios, London, United Kingdom Length 27:39 Producer George Martin.
Introducing... The Beatles is the first Beatles album in the United States. Originally scheduled for a July 1963 release, the first LP came out on January 10, 1964, revised edition released February 10, 1964, Vee-Jay Records in mono (catalogue number VJLP 1062) and stereo (VJLPS 1062), mere days before Capitol's Meet The Beatles!. It was the subject of much legal wrangling, but ultimately, Vee-Jay was permitted to sell the album until the fall of 1964, by which time it had sold more than 1.3 million copies. - from Wikipedia
The front cover of “Introducing … The Beatles” uses the Angus McBean color photograph that served as the cover of Parlophone's The Beatles' Hits EP, except that Vee-Jay cut off the bottom of the photo and also reversed the negative. Thus, the members of the group are shown with their famous hair flowing in the wrong direction. Also, the buttons on their jackets are on the opposite sides. The title of the album, appearing at the top of the jacket in two lines as "Introducing... THE BEATLES," is followed by the phrase "ENGLANDS No. I VOCAL GROUP" to let the American public know of the group's popularity in their homeland.
Here are some facts to support this album’s authenticity:
The front cover does not look "washed-out".
George's shadow is evident on the front cover.
Cover back has the track listing referred to as “Column Back” or “Titles On Back”.
The glossy labels are black, with the "rainbow" colorband.
The album title is printed above the spindle hole on the label.
"The Beatles" is also printed above the spindle hole. Any label that shows it below the spindle hole is not authentic.
The run-off or dead wax area is less than 1 in.
Please see www.eskimo.com for info on this albums’ authenticity as well as other Beatles Vee-Jay releases.

Vinyl: VG Shiny & glossy, only a few light rubs & light scratches. Labels look nice with light spindle marks. Both the title & The Beatles appears above the spindle hole. Matrix Numbers engraved in the dead wax, carry out groove or runoff margin areas are: 63-3402 3 MR ? 6307, 63-3403 ? 6307X. The first 3 & the MR are each inside circles. MR indicates this record was pressed at Monarch Record Mfg. Co. in California.
Cover: VG No stickers, shows some surface & edge wear. Title is legible, however, is not exactly on the edge. Alas, someone thought it would be funny to mark the Beatles teeth & Paul’s face with pen on front - this is mostly gone (not shown). A portion of the back slick bottom edge overlap has torn away (not shown), however, is not unsightly. A very small 2 appears next to the word RECORDS on the bottom right of the back slick. Original color inner sleeve “The Great Gospel Artists Are on VJ“, has some repaired splits.
