Description
- "Introducing... The Beatles" on Vee-Jay Records was the group's very first release in the U.S. in January 1964. It actually came out 3 weeks before "Meet The Beatles," which is widely regarded as the band's American debut. There were a lot of legal disputes over the band's recording rights and it is the main reason why this album has far more bootlegs in the market than authentic copies.
- This copy is in good condition and is still in its original shrink wrap but it is clearly a bootleg. The cover says Stereophonic but it's clearly in mono and like the packaging, it's not of the highest quality. Other distinguishing marks that identify it as a bootleg are the front cover features the shadow of George and there is a fold-over in the upper right corner. On the disc label, the title and band name are separated by the spindle hole and the rainbow rim is blotchy. The cover is VG+ and the 199 written on the front is on the shrink wrap and not the sleeve. The disc has no skips but I would not rate it higher than VG.
- In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.
- Free shipping is included in the special corrugated album mailer seen in the last picture.
- This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 56 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
