Description

Sealed MFSL UHQR Alan Parsons I Robot.

If you know anything about UHQR's you know they are the ultimate in LP pressings.
They were pressed using a vinyl formulation created for analog videodiscs, and hence will never wear out.
This technology was never used to press LP's again after these 8 titles unfortunately.
Each one individually numbered and limted to 5,000 pressings.

A sonic masterpiece from the engineer for such classic's as Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon.

Sealed UHQR's have become quite rare.

If you are trying to build a collection of the 8 UHQR titles released, this is a perfect opportuity to buy one from a fellow collector as opposed to a dealer where the item may have been stored in a moldy basement, or perhaps used as a "lap coffee table" to prepare some dubious substance during the heyday of experimental rock.

This was always stored upright in my record rack at a controled temperature and humidity.

I have other UHQR's and they are indeed amazing, but am selling this to fund some jazz LP aquisitions.

One corner is lightly raised, as can be seen in the photo, but the part sticking out is just the shrink wrap.

It's not bad at all, I just want to be very clear about condition, since I like know what I'm getting when I buy an LP off ebay.

Still shrink wrapped in it's original state and ordered by me direct from MFSL while still in stock many years ago.

Here is a user review of this LP off of audiokarma from a number of years ago, in case you are wondering what the sonics are like.

"Well nirvana has finally come to the [deleated] household..... I received today via UPS a sealed MFSL UHQR copy of Alan Parsons Project : I Robot. Like many of you, I've seen these float through Ebay and seen them bring in serious coin. The very reason I have not owned any (not having the forsight to purchase some back in the 70's) So, is the hype about these all it's cracked up to be. Simple - YES! I've never heard anything like this before. Dead quiet and with a clarity, crispness and dynamic range that my Rega has never produced before. I own a standard and a MFSL version of this album, but they should run and hide now that this :ntwrthy: UHQR is in the house. Having picked up my new pair of glasses on the way home, it's very much like when I put them on for the first time - BANG, everything was really in focus (I only thought they were before). A clarity that makes life come alive. The difference in broadcast TV and closed loop HDTV. More vivid, more color, more of everything. You just stand with your jaw open taking it all in."

Please note: I estimated a shipping cost of $10 when creating the audtion, but did not take into account the buyer may want faster shipping and the insurance cost of the amount of the final auction amount. So the buyer will pay actual shipping costs based on thier wishes. If any current bidder (as of sept. 10) want to retract thier bid due to this, please feel free to do so.
