Description
HORACE SILVER THE TOKYO BLUES Blue Note BST 84110
Up for auction is a very early (Deep Groove one side) U.S. Stereo Blue Note (New York) P - pressing (1962) of Horace Silver's , "The Tokyo Blues". Fantastic Hard Bop meld of latin with an eastern sensibility. Just a great hard bop session featuring the stellar front line of Blue Mitchell and Junior Cook. Great writing and playing throughout.
DEAD WAX INFO: BNST - 84110 A etched on Side 1 run-out and BNST - 84110 B etched on Side 2 run-out. Both Sides have VAN GELDER and STEREO stamped into the run-out. Both Sides also have the "'P" or ear mark. Early Blue Note Stereo Plastylite pressing. VINYL VISUAL: VG and much better with some minor shallow marking. Labels show moderate play, but have personal felt marker catalogue number. Deep Groove Side 1 only.
VINYL PLAY GRADE: VG+ and much better with very little noise. Could use a cleaning, which might elevate this even more. Low noise level on lead-ins and between tracks. A GREAT player with that bright, LOUD Blue Note Plastylite sound.
COVER VISUAL: VG (Downgraded) with very little wear, but a nasty bump top left corner (see pictures). Great gloss. Wear on seam and spines is moderate, but the spine has a small split that renders the album title unreadable. Too bad.
COMES WITH ORIGINAL Blue Note PRINTED INNER in GREAT SHAPE (one of the best that I have ever seen).
PLEASE READ FOR DETAILS ON SELLER AND SHIPPING
HELLO ALL. My name is Jamie, and I have been collecting records steadily for over 45 years. After a bit of a respite from selling on Ebay, I am back and will be selling a ton of stuff over the next few years. My tastes run all over the map, so there will be something for everyone. All opened items will be visually AND aurally graded. All Dead Wax info will be listed. Play grade is done on a Thorens TD 165 through Yamaha amplification and JBL reference headphones (treble set high so there will be no surprises when you get the item).
ALL ITEMS WILL BE SHIPPED WITH PROPER MAILERS AND EXTRA PADDING, PARTICULARLY AT THE CORNERS. I HAVE MADE FAR TOO MANY PURCHASES ON EBAY WHERE THE ITEM HAS ARRIVED WITH DINGED CORNERS DUE TO INADEQUATE PACKAGING MATERIAL. BY USING FOLDED BUBBLE WRAP IN ALL FOUR CORNERS, YOU CAN BE ASSURED OF AN ITEM WITHOUT DINGED CORNERS (OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND FOR THAT MATTER). Non-tracked shipping throughout the U.S.A will be $13 CANADIAN per item, as will tracked shipping within Canada. Tracked shipping to the U.S.A. will be $16 CANADIAN for items under 500g, and slightly more for items over 500g. Most single sleeve items can be shipped as under 500g. Gatefolds and multi-sets will be over 500g.
Being a reasonable person, I will be absorbing ALL of the shipping material cost, and some of the actual postage cost.
If you have issue with an item, PLEASE work with me to achieve an outcome that will be to your satisfaction. I do offer full refunds (excluding cost to get it back to me), on any item that is not satisfactory. SINCE SHIPPING OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE (Thank You Canada Post), I will rarely list gatefolds or multi-items for sale overseas. IF ANYONE OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS CRAZY INTERESTED IN ANY ITEM, I WILL QUOTE SHIPPING ON REQUEST. Since a lot of the stuff that I will be selling is of higher end quality, rarely will things be offered overseas. Sorry folks. Again, I can consider requests on an item-by-item basis. THANKS FOR READING, everyone. Occasionally I will be selling rare and collectible CDs. Shipping obviously will be much less, around $5 CANADIAN within North America.
