Description

I am selling off my collection of Highway HI FI records to raise funds for the restoration of my 1956 Desoto UTE. If you know what these are you know they do not come up for sale very often. These high number records are extremely rare!

MR23 sleeve: Red marker lines under title and pencil numbers on front title on back upper right corner Record: Light scuff side 2

MR 23 SIDE 1: Bizet: Carmen, Opera For Orchestra. André Kostelanetz and His Orchestra.
SIDE 2: Bravo: André Kostelanetz conducting the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra of New York: Prokofiev, The Love For Three Oranges March -- Tchaikovsky, None But The Lonely Heart -- Toch, Circus Overture -- Boccherini, Menuet Du Quintette -- Tchaikovsky, March Miniature -- Rachmaninoff, Vocalise.

I listed these in the records section of Ebay and did not really explain them so that record collectors that are not familiar with them can learn about them. In 1956 and 1957 Chrysler / MoPar offered under dash record players in all car lines. Chrysler, Desoto, Dodge and Plymouth cars could have them installed and they played through the cars radio using the radios amplifier and volume controls. they were only factory authorized in 56 and 57 but I have seen them installed in 58 and 59 model year cars also if the owner wanted one and the dealer had one in stock in 1958 or 1959 they would be glad to make the sale. Only the first 6 records came with each player. All other records had to be mail ordered. numbers 1-36 were available in 1955 for the introduction of the 1956 cars with the real rare numbers 37-42 coming along later. The photo at the end is a factory shot of a 1956 Desoto Convertible with the player installed, the car, player, photo etc is not included.
