Description

Hank Mobley And His All Stars BLP 1544.

This is an original mono release from 1957

It is the deep groove 47 West 63rd St pressing, with “rvg” and the “ear” symbols in the run offs.

Unfortunately the sleeve was damaged and only the front board was any good. This has been fixed to a genuine U.S. style heavy board sleeve and a facsimile of the original sleeve rear has been added. It is what it is, but it works very well.

The record itself plays through both sides with no problem. There are one or two surface marks and some “blooming” due to long term storage. I have tried my best to show this in the photo section.

There is a little crackle and the odd pop during playback, but nothing that will detract from the joy of listening to this rare original record. Trust me, you can definitely enjoy this record.

Both labels are clean and clear of pen marks or stickers.

The only other genuine mono first press on ebay at the moment is priced at £500, so this might be a chance to get a bargain, and still be able to enjoy the excellent Blue note production.
