This is “RVG” etched, Deep Groove, Flat Rim, “P” pressing of HANK MOBLEY’s “Hank Mobley And His All Stars” on the "47 West 63rd” labels of Blue Note BLP 1544. Musicians include Hank Mobley, Milt Jackson, Horace Silver, Doug Watkins, Art Blakey..

FLAT RIM VINYL: Side 1, plays very well, with pops and ticks. The music largely subsumes pops and ticks, but they are audible. More pops and ticks than consistent surface noise. Side 2 is not as overall clean-sounding at Side 1, with repeating groove-wear that is largely subsumed by the music--but remains audible in quieter moments. Ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong. Some distortion in brass sections. No skips. No gloss. Handful of hairline marks, none feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The Deep Groove “47 West 63rd” labels are clean, spindle wear.  See photos.

COVER is in OK shape. Corners worn. Seams and spine entirely taped, end to end. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 47 West 63rd St., New York 23” back jacket shows wear, marks, tape. Please see photos.

This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER. Records photographed before final rinse/dry.
