LP-Title: Herbie Hancock - Cantaloupe Island

Record from 1994 on Blue Note/Good Buy 5/F 671097, focussing on the modal and the groove tracks Hancock released on the Blue Note label. All recordings made by Rudy van Gelder between 1962 and 1965, produced by Alfred Lion. Originally featured on the Blue Note albums “Empyrean Isles”, “Maiden Voyage”, “Takin' Off” and “My Point Of View”. Released here for the first time together on one LP. The sleeve is an original artwork in the vein of early Blue Note releases and shows a photograph by Blue Note photographer Francis Wolff.

Unplayed 180 gram German high quality pressing with amazing sound quality, manufactured by “Good Buy“, the now defunct German company wich had been distributing audiophile records(e.g. Classic Records) and also released some outstanding records on their own, all in a low quantity (I also offer their Miles Davis/Birth Of The Cool release).
