WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! MEGARARE and HARD TO FIND original Mercury Records very first “Living Presence” Hi-Fi MONO press released in Chile in 1963 by Mercury Records, made and distributed by Discos Philips (Philips Records), catalog number 120538, with hand etched matrix number MG-50348A RFR-1 RR in Side 1 and MG-50348B RFR-2 RR 324 in Side 2, with pale maroon/silver “oval” Mercury Records labels. Yes, Sirs, another FIND from Chile for all fans, lovers and collector of Fritz Kreisler!!!

“Henryk Szeryng Plays The Music Of Fritz Kreisler” was originally released in 1963 in USA and the same year we got this great and rare classical album released here in Chile, and like in most of the cases of that period, we got it with an UNIQUE COVER, made of a single piece of cardboard folded in the middle, with a single piece of thin paper for front and back covers also folded in the middle and attached (partially glued, only in the mouth edges) to the cardboard, so it looks like a fake gatefold cover. Front cover keeps strictly the original US artwork, with all the text written in English only, the only difference is the Chilean catalog number, “120538” at top and bottom right corners. Back cover also keeps the same US design, but all text is written in Spanish only. In labels the album ttile and tracklist are also written in Spanish only. It’s interesting to notice that here in Chile the album title was changed to “Works Of Fritz Kreisler” and in back cover they did an error in the liner notes, they printed an extra “Henryk Szeryng” in the middle of the liner notes about Fritz Kreisler. And his name, “Szeryng”, is misspelled “SZERING” in credits of back cover and both labels!!! You can also see that in cover the catalog number in Chile is “120538” but in labels, in Side A, it’s “120538 MGL” and in Side B it’s “120.538 MGL”. So, here you have the chance to get and own this great and rare album by Henryk Szeryng (violin) and Charles Reiner (piano) playing the work of Fritz Kreisler with UNIQUE COVER, Spanish-written text, UNIQUE ALBUM TITLE and UNIQUE ERRORS, a record almost never seen and now auctioned here in eBay by the very first time and in great condition!!! WOW!! A MUST TO HAVE!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great VG or VG+ condition the front cover, clean and clear, with some wear in all edges, light creases and some faint discoloration, most of the grade is given for a tear caused when someone removed a tape, and in EX or even EX+ condition the back cover, with only some creases, faint ring marks and faint age browning, with minimal wear in all edges. The record is in NM- or even NM condition both sides, glossy and clean, with only minimal scuffs almost impossible to see at first sight, which of course don’t affect play at all. Labels are in great EX+ or NM- condition both sides, clean and clear, with only some spindle hole wear, more evident in Side 2. The sound is in strong EX- or EX condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with only occasional soft crackles here and there, which don’t cause major distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, sure this is a great record, it keeps a very nice glossy look free of marks of any kind, almost immaculate labels and still a great sound quality after about 56 years, which won’t disappoint anyone!!! I guess this record needs a deep ultra-sonic cleaning, I’m sure the minimal crackles are there because I’ve not could remove all the dust of the groove. And don’t forget the UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE ALBUM TTILE, UNIQUE Spanish-written text and the fact this record was released in Chile the same year it was released in USA, 1963!!! Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP10 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
