Still in the complete original factory shrink wrap; crisp, tight and perfectly flat. Vibrant, snapping bright and spanking clean front and back, with no breaks to shrink, no creases, dings, indents, cut-outs or other marks. Small white half-round 'seal' sticker at opening edge of back; otherwise Near Mint. All edges straight, all corners sharp.

The Heller-Ferguson inc. of Hollywood was the leading radio creative advertising firm on the West Coast. In 1967 they were on a real roll, releasing JOHNNY SPOTS - PRIVATE EAR to showcase their radio-spot talents. The Heller agency also released several 10" promos (1967's "Creative Freakout", etc) as well as the better known, commercially released "Singers, Talkers, Players, Swingers and Doers" (as The Hellers) in 1968 on ABC/Command. ...Like Johnny says, "Man, the sound is really gettin' 'round."

This LP has ultra-hip private eye Johnny Spots (voiced by Ben Chandler, familiar to Hellers regulars from Creative Freakout) guiding us through his mod world of sexy chicks, martinis, and gloriously bad jokes, interspersed with the agency's radio jingles, many of which (as on their earlier 10" "City Songs") are geographical in nature ("This Is Los Angeles", "That's How We Grow In Sacramento", "The Call Of the Northwest", etc).

Very much a West Coast Sound, Heller was one of the most imaginative of jingle writers, many of their cuts were in fact Song Length Pieces.

Musicians, singers involved include producer Hugh Heller, composer/arranger Allyn Ferguson "The Heller-Ferguson Orchestra", Marty Paich, The Johnny Mann Singers, The Hi-Lo's...
but it's the mock private-eye patter linking the spots together that is so absolutely priceless.
