DESCRIPTION: This is An Original Pressing of a Nearly Forgotten BEATLES Interview Album That Appeared During 1964: HEAR THE BEATLES TELL ALL - A Mono LP on the Black Rainbow VEE-JAY Label (PRO-202); The Album Includes Interviews With All Four Beatles Shortly After The Release of Their "A Hard Day's Night" Movie Along With Strange Musical Accompaniment. The Front Cover States: "A Dunhill Production / Interviews By Jim Steck And Dave Hull / Edited And Scored By Lou Adler / Percussion Hal Blaine" There Are Many Other Revealing Statements On the Front Cover Such As: "Why John Gives Out The Address Of The Rolling Stones", "Facts About Paul's Race Horse", "The Day They Fished From The Hotel Window", "How The Beatle Haircut Came About"
The Album is Actually Split Between Random Dave Hull Interviews of Our Four Lads on One Side And An Exclusive Jim Steck Interview With John Lennon Alone On the Other Side; This Side is Most Revealing As John Mentions His Painful School Days, His Meeting Up With Paul in a Skiffle Band, How Manager George Martin Got Their Early Singles Played On the Radio & Also the Appearance of Pirate Radio Off the Coast of England. Lennon's Final Words At the End of the Interview Are: "Good Night & Thanks For The Bread !"
The Back Cover Contains Black & White Photos of Three VEE-JAY Beatles LP's & Four Even Harder-To-Find VEE-JAY Beatles 45's. Also Included is the Original Inner Sleeve Which Contains 60 Small B&W Photos of Old Rare Vee-Jay Albums, Mostly Gospel Along With Jimmy Reed, John Lee Hooker & That Other Popular 60's Group: The Four Seasons.
How Can I Tell This is An Original VEE-JAY Pressing & Not Some Counterfeit? Well, the Numbers Engraved in the Trail-Off Grooves Are: 64-6608 & 64-6609 Along With 7109X - I'm Not Sure What This Means Exactly But I'm Sure Most Hard-Core Beatles Collectors Do, I Will Accept Their Final Word - Thanks !!!
CONDITION: I Played Both Sides of This Record a Few Days Ago; The Black Vinyl Still Displays its Original Luster, The Black Rainbow Label is Still Clean On Both Sides. There Are Some Visible Fingerprints On the Vinyl's Surface, I Did Not Try To Wipe Them Off For Fear of Damaging the Grooves. Light Surface Noise Can Be Heard During While the Record is Playing, But This Does Not Drown Out Any of the Dialogue, There Are No Skips Anywhere (VG+). The Cover is Very Clean With Light Ring Wear Visible Along the Bottom of the Front Cover But Nowhere Else, There is Light Fraying & Wear Along the Corners & Edges, The Lower Left Corner is Bumped (EX-/VG+). The Inner Sleeve is Clean & Bright, Edge-Splitting is Starting To Form On Two of the Sides, Each About One-Inch Long (VG+). This Album is a Great Buy For BEATLES Fans & Rare Record Collectors !!
