Description
This is a copy of the original 1970 Major Minor Stereo SMLP 79 album with the laminated front and spine, matt rear sleeve and red / white / black labels. I wish that it was in super clean shape which some of the photos may suggest but read on.
I hardly ever play grade my vinyl for sale due to time constraints but this is another that I'm actually playing as I write due to its' rarity, value and condition.
The band had a Uriah Heep association which is apparent by the genre of music I'm hearing on my Linn / Naim system. The music shifts between heavy punchy prog rock and dreamy psych, sometimes almost like pop.
So, regards physical condition, the sleeve is solid and intact with no rips, tears or writing. It does have creases, bottom edge wear, ringwear and rippling at the rear due either to the tension of the front lamination or wetness in the past.
The disc is flat (no dishing) and of at least medium weight, maybe heavy. The labels are clean with evidence of a handful of plays at the spindle holes. In room light the vinyl looks ok but beneath the cruel desk lamp I see multiple scuffs, hairlines and light scratches.
Sitting and listening to it I hear some pops and crackles on the quieter sections and between tracks plus a very short skip near the beginning of side 2. Otherwise it's quite acceptable.
In summary therefore here's how I rate the following out of 10:
Sleeve - 5 Vinyl visual - 5 Vinyl aural - 6
Should the buyer disagree with my estimates then no problem to return for refund.
In mint shape this LP is well into three figure value but I'm starting at 99p so the market can decide it's auction end price.
