ORIGINAL UK UNITED ARTISTS (UAG 29202) FIRST PRESSING (October 1971) OF HAWKWIND'S SPACE/PROG MASTERPIECE "In Search Of Space" IN OUTSTANDING CONDITION (barely played, two  light spindle traces on the labels, at most) AND DELIVERING BEAUTIFULLY CLEAN, NEAR MINT AUDIO THROUGHOUT - WHICH IS INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT TO FIND AS THE LP HAS MANY VERY QUIET MOMENTS WHICH ARE COMMONLY SPOILT BY EXCESSIVE SURFACE NOISE - BUT THIS IS ONE OF THE FINEST AND CLEANEST SOUNDING COPIES I HAVE HEARD IN A WHILE  - FANTASTIC COPY AND THEY REALLY DON'T COME MUCH BETTER.

In Search of Space strengthened Hawkwind's science fiction-type brand of progressive rock, gaining bass player Dave Anderson and galactic poet extraordinaire Rob Calvert, while losing John Harrison at the same time.
The album opens with the mind-numbing galactic haze of "You Shouldn't Do That," a spooky little 15-minute excursion that warps, throbs, and swirls with Dik Mik's "audio generator" and the steady drum pace of Terry Ollis.
Then comes the ominous whispering of the title, set to the pulsating waves of Dave Brock's guitar and Turner's alto sax, with Dettmar's synth work laying the foundation.
Wonderfully setting the tone, "You Shouldn't Do That"'s improvisational looseness and rhythmic fusion smoothly open up the album into the realm of Hawkwind.
The peculiarity never ceases, as "You Know You're Only Dreaming" and "We Took the Wrong Steps Years Ago" delves even deeper into obscurity, sometimes emanating with the familiar jangle of the guitar which then has its acquaintance overshadowed by the waft of the keyboard.
Just as "Master of the Universe" chugs and rolls with a foreboding rhythm, "Adjust Me" retaliates with its moaning verse and tonal fluctuations fading into oblivion.
The groundbreaking sound which Hawkwind achieved on In Search of Space helped to open up a whole new avenue of progressive rock

Vinyl: EX.  Both surfaces retain their original deep, glossy sheen.  There are a couple of the usual sleeve retraction paper scuff traces that can only be seen under a strong light, every record will have this from taking it in and out of the sleeve. There is just a couple of very wispy hairlines which are totally inaudible on replay, the record sounds sensational.
Outstanding audio delivery in all respects with a crystal clear, deep, rich, warm and detailed sound and on playback at a loud volume (which is how I always listen to my LPs prior to listing and it's always an immense pleasure to return to this one) there is barely any surface noise. This is a beautifully clean pressing (and I must emphasize again how difficult it is to find a copy which plays this well). The whole LP sounds absolutely great and plays to a high standard with superb clarity, no groove-wear and no distortion and is very strictly graded a strong EX  for audio  - great copy!! Of course, NO skips, NO jumps, NO ticks.

Sleeve: EX+.  A splendid example of this very hard to find LP.  One edge crease near the spine prevent this from being an absolutely perfect copy. Perfect edges and spine and an extremely crisp opening. The spine is fully legible. The opening is the very best you will ever find without any damage at all. Nine out of ten copies you will find of this album will have tears and creases. Finding a copy like this is extremely unlikely for a Hawkwind LP. It will be a tough task to still improve on this copy. Please have a look at all pictures to inform your bid. Of course  NO tears, NO writing.

This is a unique investment opportunity!!! The next prog album to go completely through the roof. Finding this album in any condition at all is nearly impossible so late in the day. Get this while you still can. This value of the album is only going to go one way ... up and up ... until it will be totally unavailable at all for a reasonable price.

Though there are rarely ever any problems with my items, I always try my very best to describe everything exactly!  PLEASE REMEMBER to contact me FIRST,  if you have any problems at all, before you leave feedback and star ratings, so I get a chance to turn any negative experience into a positive one!  I can always happily sort anything out for you, if you let me know you have a problem!  This way no one has to leave Negative/Neutral feedback - and we both walk away happy! Similarly with the amount of stars, anything less than a full 5 * rating is effectively detrimental to a seller's rating as lower ratings will incur higher Final Value Fees  and lower priority in the bidlists eventually making it unattractive to list items on Ebay at all. I know of at least one major previous Ebay seller who has decided not to list via Ebay again. Please do NOT bid if you cannot give me at least 1 chance to sort everything out to your FULL satisfaction in the unlikely event of a problem.  Thanks again!!

This an excellent investment opportunity!!! Any questions please ask me and I will try to answer soon.
