SAX 2359-61 UK B/S 1st. EX LA GIOCONDA PONCHIELLI CALLAS VOTTO COSSOTTO 3 LP with LIBRETTO
You are bidding on the following item. This is a 100% original UK STEREO first issue of Amilcare Ponchielli LA GIOCONDA featuring MARIA CALLAS and, FIORENZA COSSOTTO, with conductor ANTONIO VOTTO. It is a THREE record set in a box that includes the original single sheet insert and an additional libretto booklet. VERY RARE. The box is in very tidy condition with just some minor edge and corner wear (see photos). The printed front panel is excellent and the original Stereophonic Recording sticker is attached.
Gold printing on the spine of the box is clean and clear.
Records are in original EMI inners.
Turquoise and Silver labels.
There is the original two sided insert and also an additional 60 page printed libretto booklet which was available for an extra charge from the store at the time.

Cat No: COLUMBIA SAX 2359 / 60 / 61 (1960).
CONDITION:
Box and inners – EX. Very clean front but minor edge and corner wear. Nothing too serious. (See scans). All original inner sleeves are very clean. Insert has ageing spots. Libretto is very clean with minor ageing spots on edges. Cover has slight curl with age, could be flattened. (see photo). Records 1 & 2) – EX. THE RECORD SURFACES ARE VERY CLEAN with just a couple of very light scuffs. Nothing more than a couple of light tics. The labels are totally clean.
Record 3. Side 5 is EX again with very minor background noise intrusion. Side 6 is EX (-) as there are a handful of discrete tics along with a light visible scuff and there are just a couple of clicks from a tiny needle hook. All of this is low level but it is there. The labels are totally clean.
