Description
Up for bid is a real rare Hank Mobley record entitled "HANK MOBLEY QUINTET". This record is on the blue note record and has the following on the label BLUE NOTE RECORDS 47 WEST 63rd NEW YORK 23 on the inside of the deep groove and 33 1/3 MICROGROOVE LONG PLAYING on the outside of the deep groove along with the BLUE NOTE. This record was salvaged from a box of old mildewed records. THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE RECORD ONLY for the cover was too far gone. This record is scratched up pretty good on both sides with side one being a little better than side 2. This would be a good filler for someone who had a good sleeve but a really poor album. This record would also be great for framing. The label on side one is in good shape and the label on side two is stained some but might could maybe cleaned up a bit. I wiped it off with a damp rag but was scared to do much cleaning because I was scared of fading the blue ink. I will leave this to the professionals. The shine is good on both sides. I played both sides of this record and side one had a good bit of background hiss and some popping and side two was a lot worse. Both sides played all the way through. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS RECORD FOR THE PURPOSE OF LISTENING ENJOYMENT. I normally would not list a record in this bad of shape except for this is one of the rareer Blue Note records. It was the first of the 47 west 63rd releases.
