Description
Excellent, guaranteed original, 1964 Minnesota Private-Pressing Folk/Garage LP by THE GATEWAYS entitled "An Evening With The Gateways" on Medody Records (#101). Ungodly RARE album (only copy I've ever seen in 30+ years of collecting this stuff! Minnesota high school band album, directed by Byron Holtz, mostly classical & folk, but the killer tracks here are two GARAGE STOMPERS by The SIMON GATES: "Bashin'" & "The Joint Was A Rockin." Pretty snotty vocals, Farfisa, and unusual use of reverb, - this would fit nicely on the "Back To The Grave" comps! The record is mostly VG to VG-, with crackles & pops, but the SIMON GATES tracks (the main attraction) play strong VG+. Here them both now!!! Inscribed on the front cover by Byron Holtz. Condition: Cover = solid VG+ (light wear, no seam splits). Winning bidder to add $3.50 postage in the USA.
