Updated information: The record has been professionally cleaned and graded by Dennis Hartman at American Pie Records, Ventura, Ca. We are no longer offering a 7 day refund. In his opinion, the record plays VG++ 2 insignificant scuffs (DNAP) on side 1 and near mint on side 2, no scuffs. He looked in his UK 2008 price book and said the value was between $500 - $700. That was 2008, this is now - unsure what the value range is - I guess whatever someone wants to pay for it.
Rare (original) happy the man and seven stones 45rpm record . This is the later re-release of the UK single, with a picture sleeve from October, 1972.
I have confirmed with Michael Poloukhine at the Genesis Museum.com that this is not a fake. He has an excellent website at Genesis Museum.com and he has all the information on this specific record and how to tell a fake from an original. According to his website the sleeve is difficult to find with the record and his value of this single is approx. $250.00 to $300.00. It seems to be in really good condition with no scratches or warping. I am not a record collector and do not know how to grade. I would not even try to clean it or the cover. It looks like it has been rarely played,if at all. The cover has a few dirt smudges, but no rips, tears or tape. This comes from a friend's estate and has not been played or cleaned in over 30+ years. The cover shows a bit of wear from storage and you can vaguely see the outline of record on the cover.
I do have additional photos upon request which show a close up of the back side of the cover with the proper wording in the correct location on the cover and the correct folding of the sleeve, etc. . Also, you can see by the photo of the actual record that it has the copyright text in the right position and the ribs (teeth) along the edge of the label.
