Description

Dear Gorilla Biscuits, I’m auctioning off my copy of your LP titled START TODAY on Purplish vinyl and I thought I should explain why. You see, it’s not that the record’s not good, quite the opposite, it’s great. I just listened to it again and I gotta say, it’s a pretty bangin’ release. And it’s not because I can hear the Dag Nasty influence in certain parts either. Dag Nasty was a popular band and lots of people were influenced by them, not to mention, I get a kick out of bands giving nods like that to DC since it’s where I’m from. And it’s not because of Civ’s voice – he sounds awesome, and you know we all loved the way his voice would crack and pop here and there. It’s because I just don’t listen to this anymore, and I don’t know, it might sound corny, but I think someone out there on planet mud-ball earth might actually appreciate it more than me. Don’t get me wrong, we had some good times together. But… I think it’s time I share my copy of this great record with someone else; someone who wants to bid on it and buy it for more than I bought it for. And you should know, my dear sweet Gorilla Biscuits, that despite me thinking it was pretty silly of you all to get back together and do some reunion shows so you could cash-in and milk the kids, I want you to know that I really did have some great times going to see you guys play at Safari (remember when you all showed up literally 5 hours late, and we all waited for you anyway, and when you got there, we all had the most incredible time ever?). And I need you to know that I really appreciate the fact that you called your band Gorilla Biscuits while all the other bands where calling themselves stuff like, Suckerpunch, Floorpunch, Unit Pride, Wrecking Crew, Hard Stance and Youth Crew of Youth. So hats off to you and Pillsbury Hardcore. I’d also like to tell you, because at this stage in our relationship it’s important that you understand me, what exactly I’m gonna do with the money I make from auctioning this record… I’m gonna put the money towards going back to school. Isn’t that great? You see, I never finished college, in fact I hardly really started. Since all those old shows, I’ve had a pretty severe problem with prolonged youth. I’m still living paycheck to paycheck exactly the same way I was back in 1989. So I think I’m gonna go off and study English at a university. Try and get a degree of some sort and maybe start teaching American Literature to high school kids. That way, I can contribute something positive to society at age 32, while still trying to stay young ‘til I die. And isn’t that what it’s all about? As Always, the buyer of this LP will have to pay for shipping and simply MUST contact me to arrange and agree to the shipping fees. In the U.S., it'll ship as Media Mail or Priority Mail. And Foreign orders will be shipped via Airmail. Why I’m telling you this shipping information now, Gorilla Biscuits, I just don’t know. Look, maybe we’ll run into each other later on down the road, not at a reunion gig, that’s for sure, but maybe somewhere else. Thanks. It’s been real.
