GENESIS Watcher Of The Skies Italian release with unique picture sleeve. I bought this single from an Italian who had it listed on Discogs as Near Mint (and Near Mint sleeve), though it was anything but! I should have returned it, but he sent me another record free of charge, which - sadly, wasn't much better, so I decided to wait and until the right moment to list it as an auction item presented itself. The record is worn; labels look okay, so I think the record has been handled with some care, but played a lot! Sleeve is grubby with some edge-wear and staining (really is in poor condition). I've graded it as Fair. This is a gap filler, though it should be noted of course that this is an extremely rare single and even in good condition prices asked are high. Just bid whatever you feel comfortable with.

NB: I am a private collector and have been collecting vinyl records – on and off, for well over 40 years, but now I really need the space, hence the reason for these listings! Media (record) graded first — visually under LED lighting, followed by the sleeve.

  • Sleeve Condition: F (Fair)


Grading system
I use the standard grading system introduced by Record Collector to determine the condition of the records I am selling, with either a + or – added where necessary to provide a wider selection of grades for greater accuracy.

  • Mint (M)
    The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

  • Excellent (EX)
    The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

  • Very Good (VG)
    The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

  • Good (G)
    The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

  • Fair (F)
    The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

  • Poor (P)
    The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

  • Bad (B)
    The record is unplayable or might even be broken and is only of use as a collection-filler.
