GENESIS Nursery Cryme UK LP CAS 1052. Released 1971
This auction is for an original UK 1st pressing on the first Charisma Pink Scroll Label. Housed in a textured gatefold sleeve

Grading: -
Outer Sleeve: VG+
The lightly textured gatefold sleeve is in VG condition. It is clean and free of any major defects such as rips or writing. The front and back covers are extremely clean and are really impressive. The spine is also in nice condition with little or nothing in terms of wear. The top and bottom edges do have much more significant wear on this LP and hence the reduction in grading. Whilst both edges do exhibit quite a bit of wear, they aren’t horribly frayed like you sometimes see and for the most part they are the only condition point of note on what is overall a respectable copy of this sleeve
Vinyl: VG
Under bright halogen light a moderate amount of light hairlines are visible, but almost with exception these are very fine and probably caused only by removal from the original paper inner sleeve in the course of normal use. There are a couple of small but deeper marks on “The Musical Box” (side 1 track 1). The album has clearly been played quite a bit but still appears to have a lot of life left in it!
Vinyl - Audio: VG
For the majority the album plays extremely well, with superb audio that is both dynamic and clear. The two marks on side 1 track 1 cause a max. of 4-5 clicks on playback, and hence the lower grading, but these are relatively brief and the rest of the LP, especially side 2, plays with a great dynamic balance. Overall, it really is a super listen. The LP plays through without any skips or jumps.

Labels: EX-
The labels are clean but there are quite a lot of spindle marks visible when angled in bright light. Side 2 has a couple of very thin white lines (see photos) not sure what this is, but they are relatively flat and the surface of the label isn’t damaged.
Overall, this is a decent copy of this LP and despite a couple of points noted above then it plays really well and many would find this a very engaging record to listen to.
Please note I grade conservatively.
Postage and Packing:
All records are placed in a separate poly lined inner and stored flat outside the sleeve and then placed sealed in a re-sealable polythene outer prior to shipping. Records are then placed between square cardboard sheets before packaging into cruciform mailers especially designed for LP’s. These mailers are a high-grade type which reinforce the edges around the LP and as such they are larger and weigh more than standard mailers. My postage costs reflect the additional size and weight of the packaging that I use.
