Visual grading
There are a number of faint hairlines and a handful that are more obvious but it is by means wrecked and there are no deep feelable scratches.
Play grading
'The Musical Box' begins with some crackle and a few light clicks but it does decrease to a more acceptable level after about two minutes. It is still very 'listenable' but don't expect perfection. The louder sections actually play with excellent quality and no distortion. The quieter sections from the half way point still play with some static/crackle here and there but much less than on the intro. The crescendo ending plays superbly. There are no skips or jumps at all on this track. For such a quiet track 'For Absent Friends' plays very well with only light background static. 'The Return Of The Giant Hogweed' has 3/4 swishing static sounds before it starts but then plays with excellent audio for the majority. There is a little intermittent crackle/static but it is very much in the background and does not intrude on what is an excellent listen.
'Seven Stones' on S2 again starts with some heavy crackle but again soon decreases. The track has no skips or jumps and whilst there is some sporadic crackle and the odd click the actual clarity is very good and it remains a very good listen. For the majority 'Harold The Barrel' plays with excellent sound, just a little background crackle here and there. 'Harlequin' has some crackle which is sometimes a little more obvious due to it being such a quiet song. There are also 3/4 pops but again it is still eminently playable and has no skips or jumps. 'The Fountain Of Salmacis' is another track where the audio is infinitely better. Some light crackle here and there but there is less 'background' and plays with excellent audio overall.
The cover
The E.J Day textured gatefold has some rubbing on the edges, corners and on the spine but overall is very clean without any marking or writing. The inside is in excellent shape with only some light 'spotting' around the edges. The opening edge is relatively unscathed with only minor handling wear.
The 'Pink Scroll' labels & Inner Sleeve
The S1 label is very clean with only spindle wear. S2 has 10A written on it and some spindle wear again and a little very faint 'spotting' also. The plain white inner (Patent Nos and Made in Great Britain) has no splits and is very clean with only some mild creasing.
