Ah, those lovely ladies of France are back for another spin around. It's safe to say that if you dug the first volume of Swinging Mademoiselle, then you'll find this installment equally satisfying.

Among the most swinging tracks are Liz Brady's spirited revamp of the Sparkles' "The Hip", as "Palladium", with her Lulu-ish vocals egged on by a dubbed audience, and Elsa Leroy's upbeat shaker "Quelle foulle, quelle, foulle", with its tidy fuzz guitar line and some nice double-tracked harmonies.

Another must hear is Christine Pilzer's "Ah-Hem-Ho-Hu-Err" an amazing slice of surrealistic pop, with a revolving arrangement of on-off maracas, fuzz guitar and spooky occult chanting and organ sections. Also, be sure to check out the cool cover version by fellow Parisiens the No-Talents (with UT's own Laurent Bigot) on their 1999 album.

My personal fave French pin-up Clothilde is here again too, with "Le Ballade du Bossi", with a lovely sighing vocal and those fantastic off-kilter orchestral arrangements by Germinal Tenau which always make her records such a gas.

Alongside these top picks are a bunch of other winners including French big beat sounds by the likes of Claire Dixon and Elsa Leroy, and some haunting folk-pop from one-time Brian Jones girlfriend Zou Zou with "Tu fait partie du passe".

As usual, fine packaging including some gorgeous pix and liners in French and Anglais make this a recommended purchase.

THis LP is long OOP and impossible to find today. The copy offered today comes complete with its booklet and in NM/NM condition, barely played !  You won't find a better one !
