Description

GENESIS - " A TRICK OF THE TAIL ", Charisma (CDS 4001) Stereo, 1976.

Very rare, 1976, English WHITE LABEL TEST PRESSING of the classic Genesis LP.

Features original textured gatefold sleeve and plain white record labels, plus first matrix numbers and picture inner sleeve - see photos.

Note: both plain white labels have a small amount of writing on them - this is generally just a normal part of the test pressing process and should not be viewed as a negative attribute.

English issue and pressing.

Matrix & Stamper numbers

SIDE A = CDS 4001 A//1 matrix, T1   1 stampers.
SIDE B = CDS 4001 B//1 matrix. T1   1 stampers.

Note: on both sides of the record the "1" that appears in the "T1" section of the stampers is facing the wrong way, but I have a "backwards 1" option on my computer's keyboard!

Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and then put in a fresh new poly-lined inner sleeve - the original inner is of course included in the auction too.

CONDITION:

VINYL =  EXCELLENT  (No deep scratches, no groove damage, no distortion, only light spindle trails, etc. In normal daylight the vinyl appears perfectly clean, under a bright grading lamp I can make out a couple of very light paper scuffs and a couple of barely visible hairline surface marks - although these are purely visual and during playback, none of these very slight superficial flaws correspond directly to any audible defects.
On playback, there is some faint surface noise during the silent run-in (usually in the pressing) which disappears as soon as the music starts. It plays really well - strong, clean and without interuptions.

Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)

SLEEVE = EX- (No rips, tears, heavy creases, defacing, etc. But had to be marked down slightly for the very lightest of general wear affecting the edges/corners and some slightly grubby areas on the front and back of the textured pale yellow sleeve - see photos for further clarification)

NOTE: I must point out that we are actually a long standing physical record shop, with many decades worth of selling, trading and grading records under our collective belts. Unlike so many of the jokers now selling records on ebay, we know how to grade records. Before bidding, please read my description carefully, decide how much this record is worth to you and place you max bid accordingly. Please also feel free to check out my feedback from the many other successful transactions I have made in the past.

ANY QUESTIONS? PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO GET IN TOUCH!

HAPPY BIDDING!!!!!
