Further Notes: France Gall’s 1968 is one of the greatest French pop records of the sixties and is her best album overall with two compositions by Serge Gainsbourg among the amazing classics available herein. (I was turned into a fan standing in Other Music in NYC as they spun the reissue CD in 1999 and I remember 6 people purchasing the CD before the 4th track was playing – talk a about a High Fidelity moment!) This LP is INSANELY rare in that very few of them come to auction. This is the second that I have obtained in 10 years of collecting. This is a VG+ copy of this with some stains on the back cover of the record as well as a few edge blemishes and someone’s initials above her head on the back) The record is very playable with no sticks or major scratches – just some surface noise that gets out of the way when the record is popping. Of all the French pop records of the golden age it is thought that the most representative are Gainsbourg, Hardy, Polnareff, and Gall – this 1968 LP especially.
I am a record collector with many doubles of LP’s (the nature of collecting!) and shrinking shelf space. I have made it my aim to rid myself of doubles and triples of records that I have picked up over the years and my loss is someone’s gain (hopefully!) Good luck with your bidding!
