FAIRPORT CONVENTION - 'WHAT WE DID ON OUR HOLIDAYS'
Their second album and the first to feature the sublime vocals of Sandy Denny. Recorded in late 1968 and released in January 1969, the album's style is distinctly more 'folk-rock' than their debut - the style for which they became most acclaimed. It includes tracks which become perennial favourites: "Fotheringay" and the song traditionally used to close live concerts, "Meet on the Ledge".
This wonderful sounding, barely played copy is genuine 1st pressing on the textured pink Island 'orange eye' label: ILPS 9092

The disc is housed within a front laminated cover printed in England.
Complete with an original poly-lined inner-sleeve.

A perfectly clean & unworn set with no noticeable light spindle trails or any wear to or around each either centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
Both playing surface clean and free from any significant surface marks or any scratches. There is some dulling to side 1 from storage, but no other signs of its 43 years. Even close and careful examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals no further blemishes or wear. Both sides of this barely played copy copy lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Play: EXCELLENT +
This copy has clearly been rarely played and the sound is perfectly clean, warm and clear throughout every track. My single careful play-check at volume could find no trace of any grove/play wear or any significant background interference on or between any of these magnificent tracks. In fact, apart from an occasional light tick and a hint of normal light background between tracks, there is little to fault on this cherished disc.
Cover: EXCELLENT +
A clean & strong example with a clean front panel which retains all of its high-gloss laminate free from any storage rubbing, 'thumbnails' or creasing of any kind. All corners are sharp and unbumped and both opening edges are unworn. The rear panel is clean and bright with the only blemish being some missing paper towards the spine edge where the laminate front the front cover folds over. Both seams & the fully worded spine are all smooth, unstressed & unsplit.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT +
Clean & flat with a few light handling wrinkles but no writing, seam splits or tears.
