Description
Original 1970 WESTBOUND label pressing of this seminal acid funk MONSTER, the self-titled debut album of George Clinton's FUNKADELIC. There's not much more I can say about this one that's not been already said - it's got the statement of purpose "Mommy, What's a Funkadelic?", and classic Funkadelic tunes like "Music For My Mother", "I Bet You", and "I Got a Thing, You Got a Thing, Everybody's Got a Thing" - and that's just SIDE ONE! Plus, of course, it's the first time George, Eddie Hazel, Bill Nelson and Tiki Fulwood are together as Funkadelic - looking back, we know what's to come. Back then, this was the funk world's wake up call. It STILL sounds as powerful today, and perhaps today's music needs another wake up call like this. Original 1970 pressing on the Westbound label. Cover's in EXCELLENT shape with just a faint hint of ringwear (very uncommon for such a black cover). Clipped cutout corner. Vinyl plays VG++ to EXCELLENT. Winning bidder pays $4.00 media mail shipping in the US, $8 air mail to Canada, $14 air mail everywhere else. Paypal, Bidpay, cash, checks and money orders accepted. Please check out my other auctions for more obscure pop, psych and garage albums, and I will combine shipping for multiple wins!
