Description
Stravinsky himself used to say that, under Reiner, the Chicago Symphony was his favorite orchestra for performances of his music. This lushously colorful and brilliantly executed performance certainly validates Stravinsky's faith in this ensemble! The sonics on this tape, of a recording made in "old" Orchestra Hall, are unbeliveably beautiful and, in my opinion, better than any subsequent issue. Box is in fine, solid condition with some adhesive-tape residue, age-related smudges and a small split in a seam on the back near where the thumb indentation is. The reel is in excellent condition and the tape, which is stored TAILS OUT on the reel, plays beautifully on my Revox B-77 deck. An excellent of this rarity. Packing, USPS FIRST CLASS shipping and insurance are a flat $5 to domestic U.S. destinations. Priority mailing on request. International destinations will cost more.
