Description

FREE fire & water ISLAND LP Textured Pink Labels pinched spine sleeve A//1 & B//1 ILPS 9120!

Original UK LP with pinched spine and the original record company white paper/poly lined (die-cut) protective inner sleeve, released in 1970, on the ISLAND label (Textured Printed Pink Labels).

Catalogue number: ILPS 9120.

Matrix Numbers read:

A-side: ILPS 9120 A//1

B-side: ILPS 9120 B//1

Sleeve: VERY GOOD+ CONDITION

Clean sleeve in VERY GOOD+ condition, displays light sleeve wear. Some slight/light record sleeve ring wear, some small light superficial sleeve creases/cracks on the front bottom right hand corner, with corresponding small half-moon crease on back sleeve corner, tiny back sleeve record insert edge tear/knock just above the middle, heavy sleeve print edge wear on the bottom and some light partial wear on the top, all spine print is clear and intact. There are no rips/tears, no seem splits, and no deep lined sleeve creases. The original Inner record company die-cut paper/poly lined inner protective sleeve is in VERY GOOD+ condition, some light corner creasing and some browning with age but with no major damage.

Record: VERY GOOD CONDITION (*Plays VERY GOOD+)

Record labels are in EXCELLENT condition, clean with no damage and with some faint light spindle hole marks on both sides. A touch of spindle hole edge wear is apparent but I would put this down more to the Textured label design as opposed to actual playing wear (see photographs for judgment). Playing surfaces and matrix areas are in VERY GOOD condition (graded by appearance), these have only a few surface marks/scuffs evident on both sides, medium, small and tiny, all are smooth and light with nothing heavy or unsightly that you can feel. Surface marks/scuffs are not excessive and are relatively minor in quantity and are very lightly scattered. The A-side has some surface misting (slight partial dulling) evident on the matrix area and the playing surface (a result of an initial pressing manufacturing fault) and only a few smooth light surface scuffs evident. Again the B-side has only a few smooth light surface scuffs/marks, there is some apparent thin groove wear style surface marks (?) between 9 and 10 o’clock on track three, about a third of the way in (which are non-sounding). *Both sides plays mostly VERY GOOD+ displaying mainly a clean clear sound throughout, however there is some occasional low level background surface noise (crackles/clicks) mainly evident during the quieter passages and there are some low but noticeable passing clicks on the quiet start of track 2 on the B-side.

Downsizing my personal collection: Early Pink label Free record, some light wear to sleeve and a VERY GOOD+ player.
